🍎Apple Announces Siri Integration with ChatGPT

Bringing AI Power to iPhones, iPads and Macs

Hello! 👋👋

Here are 5 things you missed today. Becuase we get it, life is busy & who has time to sit around reading the news - here are 5 things we think you need to know in the world today.

1 - 🍎 Apple Announces Siri Integration with ChatGPT at WWDC, Bringing AI Power to iPhones, iPads and Macs

Apple unveiled its new AI initiative, Apple Intelligence, at its Worldwide Developers Conference. This includes updates to Siri powered by AI and improvements to other Apple apps. The keynote almost ended without mentioning a rumored partnership with OpenAI, but then Apple confirmed they would be integrating ChatGPT 4 into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. This partnership allows users to leverage ChatGPT's expertise through Siri. Siri can determine when ChatGPT might be helpful and ask permission to share your question. The answers will be presented seamlessly within Siri. You can ask questions with photos, documents, presentations, or PDFs. Users will have the option to disable access to ChatGPT. This deal was highly anticipated after a leak from Bloomberg last week.

2 - 🏆 Google Leads in AI Development, While Microsoft Risks Becoming a Consultant, Says Tech CEO

A cybersecurity expert believes Microsoft's reliance on OpenAI for AI research could benefit Google in the long run. While Microsoft is pouring resources into OpenAI, Google holds the foundation of generative AI through its research on transformers, a key technology used in large language models. This dependence on OpenAI might turn Microsoft into a mere consultant, according to the expert.Despite its strong foundation, Google's own AI efforts haven't been as successful. Their recent AI features like AI Overviews and Gemini have been criticized for generating inaccurate or nonsensical information. This weakness might be exploited by AI tools like ChatGPT, potentially impacting Google's search dominance.

3 - 🏃‍♀️ Is the Lululemon Craze Fading? Brand Faces Competition on Both Ends

Lululemon, the yoga apparel giant, is facing challenges. The company, known for its high-priced leggings, is struggling to keep up with changing consumer preferences and increased competition. On one hand, Lululemon is out of favor with younger shoppers who prefer baggier styles. On the other hand, new luxury yoga brands like Alo and Vuori are taking market share. The recent departure of Lululemon's chief product officer, who is seen as a key driver of the company's success, has added to investor worries. There are some bright spots, however. Lululemon's international business is growing rapidly, particularly in China. The company is also looking to expand its men's offerings. And analysts believe that the recent stock buyback program could help to calm investors.
